Adam Hasner Tosses Hat In The Ring for Florida GOP US Senate Nomination

Adam Hasner officially announces his candidacy for the United State Senate to take on Bill Nelson in 2012.

“Several weeks ago I began a conversation with Floridians about the crossroads we face as a country,” noted Hasner. “Since then, I've traveled to every corner of the state and met some great people. I've listened and learned, and together we've shared an honest discussion about the failures of Washington, frustrations of Florida, and future of America.

“The reality is, Washington is taking us in the wrong direction and both parties have been at fault. To turn things around we need honest conservatives who will challenge the leadership on both sides, say what needs to be said, and do what needs to be done,” continued Hasner. “To keep America the greatest country in the world, we need Republicans who won't just challenge Democrats on spending, taxes and debt, but leaders willing to challenge their fellow Republicans as well. And that's why today I'm making my decision official: I am announcing my candidacy for the U.S. Senate.”

:
At just 41-years of age, National Review, Newsmax, Human Events, The St. Petersburg Times and Washington Post have all called Adam Hasner Florida's next conservative rising star.

Best known for serving as Marco Rubio's hand-picked Majority Leader, Adam is a life long Republican who believes in limited government, free markets, and a strong national defense. He is 100% pro-life and received an "A+" rating from the National Rifle Association for his record on second amendment issues. As a public servant, he amassed a consistent voting record in favor of tax relief, reducing government spending, increasing personal freedoms, reining in government regulations, and promoting entrepreneurship. Adam has also become a nationally recognized voice in warning about the dangers of radical Islam, and he led the effort to pass Florida's first in the nation law to divest state pension funds from companies that do business in Iran.

His proven track record and unapologetic conservatism led the St. Petersburg Times to label Adam "the one to watch" in the 2012 Florida Senate race.

Adam is also a consistent voice in favor of keeping Americans free, prosperous and safe by recommitting America to strong national defense policies.

As a state representative from Democratic-controlled Palm Beach County, Adam successfully won re-election three times without ever sacrificing his bedrock conservative principles. Adam served alongside Marco Rubio for six years, and in 2007 was tapped by then-Speaker Rubio to serve as Majority Leader for the Republican caucus.

Adam consistently voted in favor of greater accountability and choice in public schools, supported the elimination of property taxes, voted to reduce government spending by billions of dollars, voted to cut the salaries of elected officials, and was a vocal proponent of free-market solutions toward American energy independence.

In 2010, Adam led the House Republican effort demanding the United States Congress pass a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Adam served alongside leading conservatives like Ken Blackwell and Mike Lee as the founding national Co-Chairman of the citizen action group, Pass The Balanced Budget Amendment (www.passtheBBA.com).

After the term limits he supported sent him back home to Palm Beach County, Adam returned to the private sector, and today serves as the founder of a financial advisory firm.

Adam and his wife, Jillian, reside in Boca Raton, Florida.
