Florida Gov. Charlie Crist said today (Thirsday 4/29) that he is leaving the Republican Party and will seek a seat in the U.S. Senate as an independent. Crist began his campaign as the dominant candidate in the race, but he has steadily lost ground, in GOP polls and fundraising, to former state House speaker Marco Rubio.
