Amendment 28 Proposed by Citizens of America

ARRA News Service: Making the rounds these days is a recommended Constitutional Amendment. While many have reached the point of desiring Congressional Term Limits, the following is an amendment a majority of Americans should be able to quickly promote. Doubt if those rascals in Congress would agree.

Thomas Jefferson said, "When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty" It is time for the government to start fearing to at least live like we do.

Proposed Amendment 28 for your Consideration and Comment:
Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.

As one reader said, "Let's get this passed around, folks - these clowns in
Washington have brought this upon themselves!" Considered the phrase "Equal pay for equal work." Based on past non-quality performance and failure to follow the Constitution; most of the members of Congress owe the American Citizen's a huge refund of their pay. While we will never see such a refund, it is worthy to consider the above proposed amendment.

A few of our ancestors understood Congress very well and for some reason we have failed to heed their words of wisdom:
If the present Congress errs in too much talking, how can it be otherwise in a body to which the people send one hundred and fifty lawyers, whose trade it is to question everything, yield nothing, and talk by the hour? ~ Thomas Jefferson

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. ~ Alexis de Tocqueville

We have the right as individuals to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right to appropriate a dollar of the public money. ~ Davy Crockett

Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a member of Congress; but I repeat myself. ~ Mark Twain

There is no distinctly American criminal class - except Congress. ~ Mark Twain

We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. ~ Abraham Lincoln

This country has come to feel the same when Congress is in session as when the baby gets hold of a hammer. ~ Will Rogers

The only difference between death and taxes is that death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets. ~ Will Rogers

You can lead a man to Congress, but you can't make him think. ~ Milton Berle

Being elected to Congress is regarded as being sent on a looting raid for one's friends. ~ George Will

Washingtoons: Fakes, Phonies, and Frauds Verses Real Leadership

By Allen West: One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. - Greek Philosopher, Plato 429-347 BC

Greetings fellow South Florida riders, South Floridians, and Americans, here we are for another monthly installment of our Wheels on the Road (WOTR) political assessment. As this issue hits I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Hanukkah, and Merry Christmas……sorry, I am a traditional Southern fella that does not get this “Holiday” stuff.

Last month I discussed our being one year away from the most critical mid-term elections our Nation may ever know. We defined the difference between conservative and post-modern liberal political ideologies. In this past month we saw two very interesting Gubernatorial elections, well some of us missed them as WH Spokesman Robert Gibbs said the President was watching basketball. In case he still does not know the Republicans won in New Jersey and Virginia.

We are about to close out what has been an incredibly tumultuous year, the first under Emperor Obama…..town hall in China, give me a break!

I truly believe that it is necessary to consider Plato’s timeless quote and ponder, how does it apply to the elections of 2010?  Webster defines the word charlatan as “a fraud, quack, impostor”. In this past year we have witnessed several instances of individuals that have perpetrated fraud against the American people. And our Country is plagued with charlatans.

We are all quite familiar with the Bernie Madoff case which devastated many people here in South Florida, quite a few in Florida Congressional district 22. So many people placed their trust in what we now know was an elaborate “ponzi scheme”. The life savings of countless individuals was lost.

Just recently we have experienced another such case in the Ft Lauderdale area with a local lawyer named Scott Rothstein. The dollar amounts are not in the same strata as Madoff, only $1Billion, but that is still a pretty substantial number. One would think that we would be more attuned after the realization of what Madoff had executed.

But on an even greater scale we see the future and legacy of our Republic being stolen away by those who truly are our inferiors, impostors.

We have a Secretary of the Treasury, head of the Internal Revenue Service, who cheated on his own taxes. We have Congressman Charlie Rangel, who is the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, keeper of our 67,000 page tax code. It has come to our attention that Congressman Rangel has also cheated against the document for which he is charged to keep. How is it that these individuals who have knowingly committed acts of fraud are in positions to govern us?

This year we have learned that we have members of Congress who have admitted that they do not read the legislation presented. I cannot consider this in any other term than being negligent in executing their duties, indeed committing fraud against those whom they should be representing.

I am sure there are multitudes of examples that we all can bring to mind from local to the federal levels of government. Former Louisiana Congressman William Jefferson recently received a 13 year prison sentence for his corruption while serving in office; just another example of a charlatan.

I will not speak of our current President because the examples are too numerous to count. What I will speak of is the fact that leaders make a decision; they don’t vote “present”. However, as Benjamin Franklin stated, “sometimes you get the government you want, other times you get the government you deserve”.

How is it that over the course of the years our Great Republic has ended up being governed by lesser men, and women? Nancy Pelosi and my Congressional opponent Ron Klein are prime examples.

There is a simple answer; America has forgotten what leadership is.

As this year ends and we head into the election cycle of 2010 we must once again remember what comprises leadership. The individuals who now sit in key positions in our Country would have never been able to set us on course233 years ago to establish this “more perfect union” the United States of America.

Having spent 22 years in active duty service I have had the distinct honor to serve with an array of incredible men and women. I would like to share with you what I have been taught leadership to be.

Leadership has five basic components; the first is courage, not just physical courage but also moral courage to stand, sometimes alone, in order to do that which is right. It is about having a unique quality that in times of a trying crisis steps forth and exhibits itself in actions that are selfless and display uncommon virtue, valor, and resolve.

The second component is competence which is an ability to anticipate a problem, analyze viable solutions, and execute a decision. It is truly a talent that is necessary as America faces some of the most pressing issues in our economy, national security, energy independence, and illegal immigration. Competence knows no partisan agenda but seeks that which is best for those whom a leader is called to lead.

The third component is conviction which relates to one having a strong belief. What we need now more than ever are men and women who have a strong belief in America and its Constitution. America is a Republic and what is a fundamental principle of a Republic is adherence to Rule of Law….and that is our Constitution.

A conviction in America would have precluded the passing of the insidious healthcare legislation last week, in the wee hours.

The fourth component is commitment. In the military we all take an oath to our Constitution, to support and defend it, against all enemies foreign and domestic. We have a bond to our Brother and Sister Warriors. America now needs leaders who are committed to the American people, not their own self-interest and certainly not special interest, foreign or domestic.

Finally, leadership is about character, and for me that is defined by “doing what is right when no one is watching”. Far too many of those who are inferior to us have risen to positions of governance, only to make deals and decisions in hiding.

If our Country is to survive for another 233 years we must regain an ability to assess leadership. And in the coming year there will be many parading before us for support to gain that special honor to govern….yours truly is one of them. Therefore, as 2009 ends and we head to 2010 we must become engaged in politics. Judge any of us with the hardest of scrutiny and ask the tough questions. Remember that leadership is not about having a nice image or giving pretty prepared speeches.

Leadership is about courage, competence, conviction, commitment, and character. Let us not allow the maxim of Plato to again define our Country. Let us no longer be led by fakes, phonies, and frauds.

Health Care Debate is Now Officially Underway

Senate Votes 60-39 to move Reid health care bill to floor for debate.

Republicans will now provide what the closed-door sessions did not. We will continue to offer the commonsense, step-by-step cost-saving reform that Americans really want.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Saturday after Senate Democrats voted to move forward with a partisan health care bill which increases premiums, raises taxes and slashes Medicare:

“The health care debate is now officially underway on this 2,074 page, multi-trillion-dollar health care experiment.

“This bill may have been drafted behind closed doors but now it’s the American people’s turn to have their voices heard.  For months, they have been asking Congress to do something about the high cost of healthcare and yet the sponsors of this bill responded with a half-trillion dollars in Medicare cuts, massive tax hikes, and an unsustainable expansion of new government programs which Congress’s non-partisan scorekeeper says will result in higher premiums, not lower.  It may be a lot of things, but it’s sure not reform.

“Republicans will now provide what the closed-door sessions did not. We will continue to offer the commonsense, step-by-step cost-saving reform that Americans really want.”

Florida: Rubio Cuts Crist's Lead Down to 10

Marco Rubio started the race for U.S. Senate in Florida 46 percentage points behind Gov. Charlie Crist. A new Research 2000 poll released this week shows that Rubio has cut Crist's lead down to just 10 points. Grassroots conservatives in Florida and across the nation are propelling Rubio's campaign forward against all odds. Check out our FL-SEN Timeline to see the progress we're making in this race.

Senate Ethics Committee Admonishes Burris - It's Meaningless - Burris Should Resign

The Washington Post: "Sen. Roland W. Burris (D-IL) has been admonished by the Senate ethics committee for his public comments about his appointment last December to the body. In a three-page "public letter of qualified admonition" issued Friday, the committee formally reprimanded Burris for statements -- some made under oath to an Illinois legislative committee -- in which he denied trying to raise any campaign contributions for indicted former governor Rod Blagojevich for his political committees. . . . A letter of admonition is the mildest form of rebuke that the ethics committee can administer. "

Ozark Guru: Imagine calling in a gangster and saying we admonish you - go and sin no more. He would laugh himself to death. The Senate Ethics Committee admonishment is all fluff and meaningless and the end result is that Roland Burris remains a U.S. Senator. He benefits from lying under oath, collects his salary, remains part of the black caucus, votes with the Democrats to place American further into debt, gets to admonish fellow Senators and others who have more integrity from the floor of the Senate, and remains a breathing living example of what corruption and deceit can get you. At least, Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) has someone he can smugly to look down on.

Here we have just another example of Chicago politics roaming the halls of the White House and the halls of Congress. Is Burris, the US Senate, Washington D.C., and Illinois without honor? Makes one wish for the Japanese culture where the dishonored end their own disgrace. Burris was not elected. No, under oath, he lied his way into office and was accepted because of an apparent rush to appoint a Senator to support the Democrat agenda. And for some contorted reason, this appointment had to be a democrat black man to replace a former democrat black man who was just sworn in as President.  Talk about racial profiling - what an insult to men and women of any ethnic or political background in Illinois!  Metaphorically, both Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King must have rolled over in their graves.

Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich must be chuckling at the joke he has played on Illinois and America in response to his being rejected by Barack Obama and his "advisers." Blago thought he was "loved" by them. Since Blago was not acceptable to join them (he should get down on his knees and thank God for this), he appointed Roland Burris who was worthy of them as now evidenced by the incompetence, lying and deceit which we have seen in the Obama administration and the Democrat controlled Congress. Being dishonorable seems to be a qualification these days in the Obama administration and the Senate ethics commission just rubber stamped their approval. Burris should resign! But then again, we haven't seen hell freeze over yet.

Oppose Public Option and Government Run Health Care

From JohnMcCain.com sponsored email...
Taxpayers simply cannot afford this government takeover of our health care system and this is our opportunity to put an end to it.

That's why I urge you to add your name to this petition showing your opposition to government-run health care.

We still have an opportunity to stop the Democrats' public option from becoming law, but I need to know you stand with us in opposition to a government takeover of health care - so, please sign this petition immediately.

The wasteful spending ways of Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress must be put to an end. Americans are angry and I share your frustration with our current leadership in Washington.

In less than one year, Barack Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress have increased our nation's spending by more than 80%. Our national debt has reached $9 trillion and will only go higher if the President signs a health care bill with provisions for a government-run option. Last month, unemployment surpassed 10%, the highest rate in over 20 years

Recent polls show clearly that Americans are against the health care takeover by Barack Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress. And these same polls show that Americans understand and are infuriated by policies that are mortgaging our children's and grandchildren's future. It must be stopped. We must act now to show our continued opposition to the direction the Democratic leadership is taking our country.

Valerie Jarrett’s “Gangster Government”

“They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That’s the Chicago way.” — Jim Malone, The Untouchables.
Call it “gangster government”— an over-glorified protection racket that favors those who tow the party line, and viciously retaliates against those who dare to depart from the dogma of the Dear Leader.

Said Congressman Steve King in an exclusive interview with the Washington News Observer, “In Chicago, you have gangster government. Valerie Jarrett’s been in the middle of that—she’s been brokering power for a long time—and the links she has with William Ayers and other nefarious characters in Chicago tell us what we’ve got in the White House itself.”

In other words, either you pay tribute to Obama, or you pay the price — Chicago-style. As Jarrett recently stated at the recent World Economic Forum in Switzerland that, “I think knowing Chicago is essential to knowing America and our new President.”

That’s it, a racket. And Jarrett is at the heart of it. According to CNN, “Obama says he runs every important decision by Jarrett, trusts her completely and considers her family.” And, you never go against the family.

In fact, anyone that dares to speak out against the Administration is made an overt political target by Jarrett and Obama. Just ask FOX News and the Chamber of Commerce. Or Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge. Or the GM and Chrysler bondholders. Or Humana. Or America’s Health Insurance Plans, an insurance industry lobby. Or Edmunds.com, which made the disastrous mistake of criticizing the failed “cash for clunkers” program.

Or, for that matter, the American people, who were called liars by Obama in his address to Congress and labeled extremists, “un-American”, and “political terrorists” by their own representatives.

This is right out of Saul Alinsky’s playbook — “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it.” The idea is to isolate the opposition and to make them pariahs, freeing the way for the Administration to act with impunity.

Which is exactly what has happened. Since Barack Obama has been elected, de facto one-party rule has reigned in Washington on virtually every policy measure pushed through either Congress or by executive fiat. The so-called trillion-dollar “stimulus.” Nationalizing the auto industry. The national energy tax. They’re all of a piece. In just one year, Republicans have been shut out of discussions on everything from creating jobs to health care in the House and Senate. They have been completely isolated — and vilified.

But not if you ask Valerie Jarrett. According to the top Obama advisor, Obama has been the model “bipartisan” president, who meets with his opponents and reaches compromises. “He has reached out,” Jarrett assured Stephanopoulos. “He has listened. He has reached across the aisle. Just recently meeting with both the Democrats—the Republicans and the Democrats in both the House and in the Senate. His effort has been sustained throughout the year.” Really?

If so, the record clearly doesn’t show it. In fact, Obama’s “bipartisan approach” has been so anemic that not a single House Republican voted for the “stimulus.” Only one voted for the controversial health care takeover on Saturday. And the energy cap-and-tax drew far more Democrat votes against than Republican votes for, courting only eight Republicans in support versus 44 Democrats who opposed it. In fact, the only real bipartisanship in Washington as of late has been against Administration policies. 39 Democrats joined with 176 Republicans in voting against the Pelosi health bill in the House on Saturday.

Senate Republicans have fared little better. According to Senator John McCain, speaking to FOX News, as health care legislation has proceeded through Congress, “Republicans have been completely shut out of any conversation or negotiation. And you know that during the campaign — I wish our viewers could see it over and over again. The president is saying when we take up health care reform, C-SPAN will be in the room, Republicans will be there, and the American people will be able to see who’s on the side of the pharmaceutical companies and who’s on the side of the American citizens.”

But, said McCain, that never happened. “Behind closed doors they cut deals with the pharmaceutical companies, with the hospital people… [I]t’s business as usual. There is no change.” In other words, it has been one-party rule from the very beginning from the President who told Republican Congressional leaders on day one: “I won, you lost.” And Jarrett knows it—because she has orchestrated it. And yet, when asked by Stephanopoulos why Obama had failed to “heal the partisan divide,” she said, “Well, you should ask that question to the Republican Party.”

No, he shouldn’t. Stephanopoulos was asking the right person the question. In essence, why is the Obama regime so divisive, thuggish, and pushy? Because it was designed to be. And one of the top engineers of this “gangster government” is Valerie Jarrett.

Jihad at Fort Hood - Part IV (14 Murdered) & Jihadists in the Military

William Warren, Political Cartoonist - Politically Correct Media Blinders at Ft Hoodby Gary Bauer, Campaign for Working Families: The “Crazy” Hasan - ABC and several other news outlets are reporting that Major Nidal Hasan, the Ft. Hood killer, had contacts with numerous Muslim extremists and had visited jihadist “chat rooms” on the Internet. Anonymous FBI officials predict the details of his other suspicious activities will become public soon. I hope so. But there are a lot of important people, from the president to media mavens, who are obviously committed to convincing us that we shouldn’t believe our own eyes and ears.

First they suggested that Hasan was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Obama was pushing that idea earlier this week when he suggested that sometimes soldiers just “crack.” And it was the first and most popular speculation by reporters right after they told us not to jump to conclusions. But the PTSD explanation itself began to crack when it became apparent that Major Hasan had never been in combat and had never formally asked to leave the Army.

Now the “jihadist deniers” are suggesting Hasan was just plain crazy – paranoid, delusional, and a psychotic. His acts didn’t have anything to do with Islam, they argue. Rather, he had a chemical imbalance leading to some brain cells misfiring.

Under this theory, the Palestinian mother who encourages her children to become suicide bombers to kill Jews just needs some counseling. The jihadists who throw acid in the faces of little Afghan girls because they want to go to school could be helped with a prescription of Prozac. The American Muslims arrested in recent months in plots to attack Ft. Dix, Quantico, and other U.S. military bases could get counseling under universal health care. Perhaps President Obama should send 40,000 psychiatrists to Afghanistan instead of soldiers.

Islamofascism is by definition crazy, certainly by our standards. How else can one explain radical Muslims who hail the 9/11 hijackers as heroes, while at the same time arguing that the Jews or the CIA or both attacked America that day to provoke us to attack Muslim countries?  Islamofascists are molded, directed and inspired by what the jihadists have concluded their faith requires of them. There are plenty of imams, Islamic “scholars,” Islamic schools, web sites, books, movies and mosques encouraging them to be “soldiers for Allah.”

If our leaders – after all the beheadings, homicide bombings, honor killings and other atrocities – still don’t get it, then I think the evidence is clear that they – not “crazy” Hasan – are the ones who are delusional.

Why Not 14? The Army officially charged Major Hasan today with 13 counts of premeditated murder. Why not 14 counts? One of Hasan’s victims, 21 year-old Francheska Velez of Chicago, was nine weeks into her pregnancy. Hasan should be charged with the murder of her unborn baby and could be charged under the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, otherwise known as Laci and Conner’s Law.

The Unborn Victims of Violence Act was signed into law by President Bush in 2004. It acknowledges the obvious: In a violent crime against a pregnant woman there are two victims – the mother and the baby. Today, our staff double-checked the law, and it covers the Uniform Code of Military Justice. In fairness, officials announcing the charges today made it clear that additional charges were possible, and the Associated Press reports that a 14th murder charge for Private Velez’ baby is under consideration.

by Kerby Anderson, Point of View: Jihadists in the Military - This week many broadcasters have tried to understand the shooting that took place last week at Fort Hood. But callers and guests have routinely rejected the idea that Major Hasan's actions were merely an anomaly or an aberration. Instead they believe it will happen again unless the military is willing to identify jihadists within the armed services.

A recent editorial in Investor's Business Daily provides a list of other jihadists in uniform. Perhaps you remember the story of another devout Muslim in the Army, Sergeant Hasan Akbar. In March 2003, he was guilt of fragging 17 fellow soldiers and killed two. Soldiers who survived his grenade attack heard him say: "You guys are coming into our countries, and you’re going to rape our women and kill our children."

Navy Signalman Hassan Abujihaad last year was convicted of tipping off al Qaeda to battle group movements in the Persian Gulf, including disclosing classified documents detailing the group’s vulnerability to terror attack. Army reservist Jeffrey Battle in 2003 pleaded guilty to conspiring to wage war against the U.S., confessing he enlisted "to receive military training to use against America"

Army Sargeant Ali Mohamed trained Green Berets at Fort Bragg's elite special warfare school before stealing military secrets for al Qaeda and helping plan bombings at three U.S. embassies in 1998. Army Specialist Ryan Anderson in 2004 was convicted of leaking military intelligence to al Qaeda terrorists, including sensitive information about the vulnerabilities of armored Humvees.

In light of this list, we should immediately admit that good and decent Muslim soldiers have served in the U.S. military with distinction. But the growing list of jihadists in the military illustrates the need to protect us from those who intend to weaken the U.S. military or bring down America. I’m Kerby Anderson, and that's my point of view.

Jihad at Fort Hood - Part III

by Gary Bauer, Campaign for Working Families: We now know that Fort Hood murderer Nidal Malik Hasan sent between 10 and 20 messages to Anwar al-Awlaki, an Islamofascist cleric known for his exhortations for Muslims to rise up and kill the infidels. Counterterrorism officials intercepted the communications but concluded (are you sitting down?) that the e-mails were probably part of a research project on post-traumatic stress disorder that the psychiatrist had been conducting at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Really? Anwar al-Awlaki is an expert on jihadist exhortation and incitement. He can wax eloquent about how to cut the throat of the non-believer and what an appropriate ritual beheading requires. He is not in any normal world a resource for research into post-traumatic stress. No matter how “innocent” the e-mails seemed to our “intelligence” community, alarm bells should have gone off when an Army major sent messages to a murderous thug. Even a cursory examination would have turned up other information on Hasan’s rants, his increasing anti-Americanism and the evidence he was becoming a Muslim warrior.

After the Fort Hood rampage, al-Awlaki praised Nidal Hasan on his web page. He wrote, “Nidal Hassan is a hero. He is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people. This is a contradiction that many Muslims brush aside and just pretend that it doesn’t exist. Any decent Muslim cannot live, understanding properly his duties towards his Creator and his fellow Muslims, and yet serve as a U.S. soldier.”

Here’s a thought: Perhaps our homeland security people are so traumatized by the constant leftwing attack accusing them of violating constitutional rights that they have been rendered ineffective. CIA officers have been threatened with prosecutions, and phone companies may be sued out of business for cooperating with the Bush Administration on wiretaps in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Some of our counterterrorism officials may be so worried about ending up in jail if they are too aggressive that they have become paralyzed by political correctness.

by Carter Clews, ALG News Editor - Time to Jump to Some Conclusions: Thirteen brave soldiers are dead today because the United States Army decided to put the tender sensibilities of radical Muslims above the personal safety of the American people. An overstatement? Not hardly. And to make matters worse, it is now clear that under Commander in Chief Barack Hussein Obama, the Army intends to continue this lunacy – no matter how many innocent lives are lost. And no matter how thoroughly it devastates our army's ability to combat terrorism both abroad, and at home.

Lest there be any doubt about the Obama policies, consider his admonition immediately following Nidal Malik Hasan's terrorist attack on U.S. soldiers at Fort Hood. No sooner had Hasan finished mowing down the unarmed "infidels" … no sooner had the assassin's screams of "Allah Akbar" faded from his lips … than Barack Obama warned the American people "don't jump to conclusions." Now, lest anyone think that by this, Obama meant not to jump to the conclusion that Hasan was the shooter, such, unfortunately, is not the case. Said the President shortly after the massacre, "This past Thursday, on a clear Texas afternoon, an Army psychiatrist walked into the Soldier Readiness Processing Center, and began shooting his fellow soldiers."

No, what this President meant is clear to any who listened as he soft-peddled radical Islam throughout his presidential campaign. His words are clear to any who heard his speech to the Egyptian parliament apologizing for America's intolerance. They are clear to all who know that his first call to a foreign leader was to Palestinian strongman Mahmoud Abbas They are clear to those who recall that his first formal interview was to Al Arabiya, when he condemned, not Islamic terrorism, but Israeli settlements.

And they are abundantly clear to any who remember Obama's own words from page 261 of his self-adulating autobiography Audacity of Hope. Apologizing for what he considers the horror Muslims have suffered at the hands of everyday Americans, he writes: "They [the Muslims] have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Little wonder, then that Obama has, at best, consented with his silence as his Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and his top military commanders clear Nidal Malik Hasan of any radical Islamic motives. And even less wonder that he has allowed his Army Chief of Staff, Gen. George Casey, to take such patent idiocy a far step further. Indeed, asked by ABC's George Stephanopolous if the Amy had "dropped the ball" by not recognizing any of a hundred and one different warning signs that Hasan had become a dangerous radical, Casey recited the Obama Administration's official mantra. We shouldn't "jump to conclusions," he intoned, based on "early tidbits."

And what were those "early tidbits?" In 2001, Hasan attended the notorious Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia, where he listened in rapt attention as the fiery, anti-American imam Anwar Al-Awlaki encouraged his followers to attack the infidels. Not so coincidentally, among Hasan's fellow attendees at the Center were two of the September 11 terrorists.

During his time at Walter Reed Hospital and the Uniformed Services University, Hasan, according to the New York Times, became increasingly hostile towards the War on Terror and Americans who defended it. Wrote the Times: "A former classmate in the master's degree program said Major Hasan gave a PowerPoint presentation about a year ago in an environmental health seminar titled "Why the War on Terror Is a War on Islam." He did not socialize with his classmates, other than to argue in the hallways on why the wars were wrong … [S]ome students complained to their professors about Major Hasan."

Even more recently, according to an ABC News Online article, intelligence sources had a level of knowledge that Hasan was in communication with al Qaeda assets abroad. And according to the highly reliable web site, the Northeast Intelligence Network, "this and information similar but not directly related to such communications became a 'political issue' between government agencies and officials 'at the policy making levels' of the administration."

So, in view of all this – and the 13 martyred soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas -- are the Obama Administration and the U.S. Army, at last, ready to start heeding reports of radical activity among Muslim soldiers – before more shots are fired and additional lives are lost?

Not a chance. Here is the Obama Administration's official response, as enunciated by Gen. Casey on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday morning: "As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse." That, of course, is sheer idiocy. And it is time for Barack Hussein Obama to step to the fore and declare once and for all – honestly and openly – whether he still intends to "stand with" the radical Muslims even to the extent of protecting "diversity" over American lives. If not, we have every right to "jump" to our own conclusions.

Democrats' Health Care Plan

by Lisa Benson

20 Years After the Berlin Wall Fell

by William Warren:
Morning Bell: Reagan, Obama and the Berlin Wall:  On June 12, 1987, President Ronald Reagan stood at the Brandenburg Gate in West Berlin and said: “General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

On November 9, 1989, just two years after Reagan made his Brandenburg Gate speech, the people of Germany did tear down “this wall” and in so doing they freed hundreds of millions of people from the tyranny of communism. Reagan by no means single-handily brought about the fall of the Berlin Wall, but his leadership against despotism was widely recognized by the victims of communism. When he visited Poland in 1990, a dissident leader presented Reagan with a sword explaining: “I am giving you this saber for helping us to chop off the head of communism.”

But the leftists in America do not want us to remember Reagan’s role in history. That is why President Barack Obama (the same man who found time to jet to Copenhagen at the drop of a rumor that his presence could win the Olympics for his hometown of Chicago) could not be bothered to attend the 20th anniversary of the wall’s fall last night. Instead, President Obama taped a video message that completely failed to mention Reagan or British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

More than petty partisan slights are at stake here. President Obama’s refusal to recognize the role President Reagan’s and Prime Minister Thatcher’s leadership played in defeating despotism goes to the core of Obama’s foreign policy priorities. Heritage scholar Nile Gardiner explains:
Barack Obama simply does not view the world as Reagan did, in terms of good versus evil, as a world divided between the forces of freedom on one side and totalitarianism on the other. For the Obama administration the advancement of human rights and individual liberty on the world stage is a distinctly low priority, as we have seen with its engagement strategy towards the likes of Iran, Burma, Sudan, Venezuela and Russia
We commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall to celebrate the collapse of communism, to honor those who died resisting communism, and to resolve that never again will peoples and nations allow so evil a tyranny to terrorize the world. Yet, at a time when the United States currently faces challenges as complicated as those confronted by Reagan (war in Afghanistan, the global fight against Islamist terrorism, the rise of a nuclear-armed Iran) Obama is bent on apologizing for our nation’s actions, betraying Cold War allies, and dithering on troop deployments.

Jihad at Fort Hood - Part II

by Gary Bauer, Campaign for Working Families: The evidence is now overwhelming that the Fort Hood murderer, Nidal Malik Hasan, is an Islamist who was trying to please Allah when he gunned down our American heroes. ABC News reported this morning that the CIA has evidence that he had tried to contact Al Qaeda in recent months. For normal Americans the news that he shouted “Allahu Akbar,” the battle cry of jihadists, as he poured bullets into our sons and daughters was all we needed to know.

But that information wasn’t good enough for Dr. Phil, Larry King, major media outlets such as Newsweek, the president and, sadly, even our military elites. Many of them jumped to the conclusion that this was another example of a soldier “breaking” from battle stress. It didn’t seem puzzling to them that he had never been in combat! In fact, all of our elites wanted to lecture the rest of us and warn us that we’d better not jump to conclusions.

Now we know that for years Hasan was quite open about his Islamist views. In fact, HE HARRASSED his fellow soldiers – not the other way around, as has been suggested. Complaints about Hasan’s anti-American rantings were ignored. Some military people say they didn’t file complaints because they were afraid that doing so would hurt their careers in the increasingly “politically correct” Army bureaucracy.

Hasan made presentations that justified suicide bombings, and argued that the wars we have been fighting since 9/11 are really wars against Islam. He tried to convert his military patients to Islam and was put on probation. He attended a mosque in Northern Virginia that two 9/11 hijackers also attended. The list goes on and on.

As an obvious Islamist, Hasan did the predictable – he killed as many of us as he could. His actions should be no more mysterious than those of the hijackers who killed 3,000 of us on 9/11 or the Palestinian family who celebrates when they receive news that their teenage child has blown himself up while killing Jews.

What is harder to fathom is why so many elites are more interested in spreading politically correct lies than in confronting the strong likelihood that our jihadist enemy has infiltrated key American institutions. More of our soldiers will die, as will more of us, if the media and our government leaders don’t wake up. Nidal Hasan should not have been in the Army – he should have been in jail. He should not have been assigned to counseling returning American warriors. He should not have been promoted.

On Meet The Press Sunday, Army Chief of Staff General George Casey continued to urge people not to jump to conclusions about the overwhelming evidence in this case. He expressed deep concern about a possible backlash against Muslim members of our Armed Forces. He actually said this: “As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.” Does he really believe that? I think that 13 American families would argue that we could have had one person less of “diversity” at Fort Hood in exchange for 13 live American heroes.

And what about the White House? Since long before this attack, this president has refused to use the phrase “Islamic terrorism,” and has banned its use by others in the government. He began his administration by attempting to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where Hasan’s jihadist brothers are imprisoned. Day by day, America becomes less safe under his leadership.

20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall

Today is the 20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. It is a great day for Liberty that should not be forgotten. For those of us who remember that day, we remember the lesson that Communism does not work. For those who are too young to remember it first-hand, please take time to watch this video.

Barack H Obama reminds us of George W Frederick and wistful for George W Bush

Bill Smith, Editor, ARRA News Service: H/T to The Oracle who identified the article below and noted that President George W. Bush and his wife Laura making a secret visit to the devastated military families at Fort Hood, TX. President Barack H. Obama and his wife Michelle will attend the memorial service at Ft. Hood on Tuesday.

It is easy to to find something to criticize President Bush for after eight years in office serving his country.  However, it is also easy to remember numerous favorable situations including his respect for the American people and his fondness for those who served in the military, public service in law enforcement, fighting fires, first responders and serving the needs of others. But, it is most unusual to find a majority of American's in just 10 months being tired of a president.

President Barack Obama has achieved this place in history. People are tired of being lectured at by immature acting president. Tired of a commander-in-chief who expressed more concern with the emotional state of the murderer rather than evidencing, like most red blooded Americans, that he was "PO'ed" at a non-combat doctor murdering and wounding military and civilians at Ft. Hood. Tired of a leader who criticizes and apologizes for the United States before the rest of the world at the drop of the hat. Tired of a man who associates with and then places into Government offices and positions known radicals and associates who would have been on any former FBI's watch list. Tired of a president using these same associations, his campaign organization, and the White House to challenge American citizens' liberties, freedoms and their right to live free of government controlling all aspects of our lives.

Barack Hussein Obama, who turned 48 (on August 4th), has in the last 10 months achieved what one other leader of America achieved by the age of 38. Barack H Obama has been irritating and or insulting the American people, has taken actions to levy taxes and or in-debting living and future generations beyond all cumulative debt established by former presidents, and has reduced or sought to reduce "We the People's" inalienable rights. Who achieved this undesirable feat quicker than Obama?  Well, that former leader was George William Frederick (formerly our King George III) who by the age 38 had forced Americans to respond to his attitudes and behaviors. George W Frederick turned 39 exactly one month before July 4, 1776 when Americans finally said enough is enough and severed ties with him as their leader. You can clearly see that this issue is not about race. GWF was white and BHO is black. Race doesn't matter. What matters is when people try to be kings verses servants of the American people! Kings may be interesting in the movies and children's fairy tales, but in real life, America cannot abide them.

Please Consider the following article and share your comments: The UK's Telegraph: Barack Obama's reaction to bad news is to play it so cool that Americans yearn for a bit more drama - and some even for his predecessor, writes Toby Harnden in Washington.
During the election campaign, Barack Obama's cool detachment was a winning quality, the "No Drama Obama" a welcome contrast with the "Mr Angry" John McCain, never mind the hot-headed "I'm the decider" President George W Bush.

A year into his presidency, however, Mr Obama seems a curiously bloodless president. If he experiences passion, he seldom shows it. It is often anyone's guess as to whether an event or issue truly moves him. He has spent more than two months considering a troop increase but do we know how he really feels about the Afghan war?

In a sign that the Obama honeymoon truly is over, I began to hear this week the first stirrings of a wistfulness about Mr Bush. "I never thought I'd hear myself say it," one Democrat told me. "But Obama makes you feel that at least with Bush you knew where he was on something."

When Mr Bush's Republicans were defeated in the 2006 mid-term elections, it was the President himself who stepped up and declared that his party had received "a thumpin'". The Democratic defeats on Tuesday were not on anything like the same scale but Mr Obama acted as if nothing at all had happened.

Mr Obama had campaigned for Jon Corzine, New Jersey's Democratic governor, five times, twice just last Sunday. But when Mr Corzine lost by four points in a state Mr Obama won by 15 last year - a 19-point swing to Republicans - White House aides just shrugged. In Virginia, which Mr Obama won by six points last year, prompting Democrats to declare an historic political realignment in the state, the Democratic candidate went down by 17 points in the biggest landslide since 1961 - a 23-point swing to the Grand Old Party.

It took Senator Mark Warner of Virginia to admit that his party "got walloped". For three days, Mr Obama maintained a studied silence about the results while his aides blamed them on local factors that had nothing to do with the President. And to think that it was Mr Bush who was always accused of being "in denial".

More serious perhaps was Mr Obama's strange disconnectedness over the Fort Hood massacre of 13 soldiers by an Army major and devout Muslim who opposed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, had praised suicide bombing and shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he opened fire. Maybe Mr Obama had been reading the American press, much of which somehow contrived to present the atrocity as a result of combat stress due to soldiers going on repeated war deployments (though Major Nadal Hasan had not been on any) and therefore, no doubt, Mr Bush's fault.

When the television networks cut to the President, viewers listened to him spend more than two surreal minutes talking to a gathering of Native Americans about their "extraordinary" and "extremely productive" conference, pausing to give a cheery "shout out" to a man named Dr Joe Medicine Crow. Only then did he briefly and mechanically address what had happened in Texas.

On Friday, when most of the basic facts were available, Mr Obama tried again. It was scarcely any better. He began by offering "an update on the tragedy that took place" - as if it was an earthquake and not a terrorist attack from an enemy within - and ended with a promise for more "updates in the coming days and weeks". Completely missing was the eloquence that Mr Obama employs when talking about himself. Absent too was any sense that the President empathised with the families and comrades of those murdered.

It was a reminder that for the past 16 years Americans have had two Presidents who would often extemporise and express emotion. President Bill Clinton could certainly "feel your pain" while Mr Bush sometimes struggled to hold back tears. Mr Obama is more like President George Bush Snr, who famously communicated his concern for people by blurting out: "Message - I care."

The White House argues that Mr Obama was not on the ballot last week and there is therefore no need to fret. The problem with this complacency is that voters were angry about the state of the economy, which Mr Obama can't keep blaming on his predecessor. With unemployment now above 10 per cent, Mr Obama needs to show Americans that he can relate to what they're going through, and take responsibility.

It could do him good to show he has a bit of fire in his belly. Perhaps he might make a decision or two based on gut instinct and deep conviction. In other words, maybe he should try being a bit more like Mr Bush.

Comply with Pelois Healthcare Plan or Go to Jail

H/T Boot Berry - by Publius, BigGovernment.com: Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail.

The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

In response to the JCT letter, Camp said: “This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail.  It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.”

Key excerpts from the JCT letter appear below:
H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.” [page 1]

If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…” [page 2]

Criminal penalties

Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years. [page 3]
When confronted with this same issue during its consideration of a similar individual mandate tax, the Senate Finance Committee worked on a bipartisan basis to include language in its bill that shielded Americans from civil and criminal penalties. The Pelosi bill, however, contains no similar language protecting American citizens from civil and criminal tax penalties that could include a $250,000 fine and five years in jail.

“The Senate Finance Committee had the good sense to eliminate the extreme penalty of incarceration. Speaker Pelosi’s decision to leave in the jail time provision is a threat to every family who cannot afford the $15,000 premium her plan creates. Fortunately, Republicans have an alternative that will lower health insurance costs without raising taxes or cutting Medicare,” said Camp.

According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speaker’s bill would cost $15,000 in 2016.

Jihad at Fort Hood

by Gary Bauer, Campaign for Working Families: Every American this morning should be outraged not only about the murderous rampage against U.S. soldiers in Ft. Hood, Texas, by Major Nidal M. Hasan, but also by the sickening effort of Big Media, and even some U.S. officials, to deceive us about what has taken place.

For eight years we have been fighting radical Islamists around the world, and we have been the victims of jihadist attacks by lone radical Muslims repeatedly here in the U.S. Yet as the story broke of the carnage yesterday, 13 dead and 30 wounded, virtually every major media outlet, along with our own government, seemed to have as their main goal convincing us that the event had nothing to do with terrorism or radical Islam.

But minute-by-minute, more information is coming to light that can’t be ignored. We have found out that six months ago Major Hasan may have defended Muslim suicide bombers on his web page, comparing such acts to the sacrifice a U.S. solider makes when he falls on a grenade to save his fellow soldiers. Col. Terry Lee, who worked with the killer, said Major Hasan had said, “Muslims shouldn’t be fighting Muslims.” Back in June, when a Muslim convert assassinated a U.S. soldier at a recruiting station in Little Rock, Arkansas, Col. Lee said that Major Hasan seemed happy about the event and that he was confronted by other officers. (You may recall that it took days for Obama to acknowledge that attack, yet the White House issued a rare Sunday statement when late-term abortionist George Tiller was killed.)

In recent weeks, while off the base, Major Hasan started wearing Arabic and religious clothing. He passed out Korans on the morning of the shooting. Survivors in the facility where Major Hasan went on the attack reported that he yelled, “Allahu Akbar,” (Allah is great) before he opened fire – the same words shouted by the jihadists on 9/11 and which have been repeated by our enemy in every attack since.

Nor is this an isolated incident. In June 2003, Sergeant Hasan K. Akbar attacked his fellow soldiers as they gathered in Kuwait to start the liberation of Iraq. He killed two officers and wounded many more. Numerous plots by American Muslims have been uncovered in recent years to attack Fort Dix, the Quantico Marine Corps base and other military facilities.

No one is suggesting that an Al Qaeda operative contacted Major Hasan and ordered yesterday’s attack. But the evidence certainly indicates that Major Hasan was becoming more and more committed to radical Islam and growing increasingly hostile to the American military that paid for his education and repeatedly promoted him. NPR reports, “Hasan was put on probation early in his postgraduate work… He was disciplined for proselytizing about his Muslim faith with patients and colleagues…”

I understand the media’s politically correct mindset. What is inexcusable is why the military and the FBI continue to be so reticent about acknowledging the nature of the enemy we are confronting. Instead of going into denial, our military, the FBI and other intelligence agencies need to admit the obvious. While thousands of loyal American Muslims have served in the military, and some have died with other Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan, there are also “sleeper cells” or “sleeper individuals” who are jihadist ticking time bombs inside our own ranks. Similar attacks are inevitable the longer our leaders engage in self-deception. The brave men and women in uniform, who are on the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq, should not have to worry about being killed at home by the same enemy they are fighting abroad.

Barack Obama, politcial cartoon, political satire, United States, William Warren

by Karen Schuberg, CNS News: [H1N1] has claimed the lives of at least 114 children in the United States since April, according to the latest data available from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But an estimated 2,247 to 3,305 babies lose their lives to abortion each day, based on statistics compiled by both the CDC and the Guttmacher Institute, a private research foundation tied to the abortion industry.

A CDC report released last Friday placed the death toll from H1N1 at 114 for persons aged 18 or younger. The week of Oct. 18-24 saw 19 laboratory-confirmed pediatric deaths from H1N1. Since August, 65 children have died from the virus and 12 have died from an unkown subtype of Influenza A. Since April 26, only 1 child has died from seasonal flu.

Meanwhile, in a 2008 Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), the CDC said that in 2005, the most recent year for which abortion data is available, 820,151 legal abortions were reported from 49 reporting areas. According to Guttmacher data, which are considered more up-to-date and more accurate than federal government statistics, 3,305 babies on average lose their lives to abortion daily. In 2005, the number of abortions totaled 1,206,200 children . . . [Full Story]
